This support will help identify potential risks to staff sustaining injury or cumulative strains in the workplace. We are able to offer practical advice to managers on appropriate temporary restrictions or alterations to working practices to allow the employee to remain at work; or if the injury is more serious, assist the early return to work of the employee.

Subject History:
40 year old male
Semi Manual Worker
Suffered back injury as a result of work related incident
Unable to work
Saw GP - sick note, and eventually referred to NHS physio
Received passive, intermittent treatment over 6 week period with no benefit, with no plan or consideration regarding return to work. |
Referral to first4physio:
7 weeks post injury referred by Occupational Health Department. Assessed & report submitted detailing:
- Injury Sustained
- Functional Capability
- Expectations regarding return to work
- Treatment Plan & Cost
Management:
Once authorised, hands on treatment commenced, including:
- Manual Therapy
- A Personalised Progressive Exercise Programme
- Advice to Employer re Phased Return to work and Modified Duties
- Self Management Advice to client relative to Working Tasks
- Work Hardening' Programme
Progression:
15 days after commencing treatment, the client was able to undertake a phased return to work on modified duties, whilst continuing with his physiotherapy treatment.
4 weeks after commencing treatment, the client had returned to full working hours and normal duties. 6 sessions of treatment provided.
